I can’t say enough about the value of structured work systems (University of North Carolina, Division TEACCH) in the classroom. Students gain so much from knowing - What work? How much work? When is the task finished? What comes next?

Visual supports create a predictable environment for students. Understanding that when I do this first, then I can get a preferred activity helps students complete work and reduces inappropriate responses - a win-win for all!

The students enjoyed helping to build our ancient and Native American display. We are moving on to an explorers unit next, and I can't wait for them to play a navigation game using a compass.

Understanding exploration and how trade works are difficult concepts! This week students participated in a hands-on activity to help build understanding. Some of the activities went well, and others were a challenge. It was a learning experience for all, including me!

Love this anti-stress app that students can put on their phones or other devices. The app has so many options, including fidgets, putty, and calming visuals. So great and won't bring unwanted attention to students trying to calm themselves!
