Today, we welcome 6 new recruits to Dumfries and Galloway Division following successful completion of their initial training at Police Scotland College. Following their divisional induction today, they will be deployed across Dumfries and Galloway from tomorrow.
Today, I saw the dedicated team of officers from the Police Scotland Dumfries & Galloway Public Protection Unit receive the ‘Team of the Year Award’ at today’s Frank D Wilburn Sr. annual awards. Together they have worked tirelessly to target offenders & support victims in our community. Well done to everyone involved.
Today I welcomed a further 4 new Probationary Constables to Dumfries and Galloway Division, after successful completion of their initial training at Police Scotland College. Following their divisional induction today, they will be deployed to our communities across Police Scotland Dumfries & Galloway.”
Visited Dumfries Academy today to see the work of our Youth Engagement Officers & partners Youth Work DG delivering the “Do the Right Thing Programme”, an intervention and prevention initiative, delivering awareness of critical issues for young people. Thanks to everyone involved.

Attended today’s Long Service and Good Conduct Awards at Tulliallan. DCC Connors presented 20 yrs Service and good conduct medals to DC Sonia Ross and Detective Superintendent Craig Riddell from Police Scotland Dumfries & Galloway. Was delighted to meet them and their families on this important day.
This morning I welcomed a further 4 new probationary Constables to Police Scotland Dumfries & Galloway . Charlotte, Richard, Kieran and Ruairi have recently completed their basic training and are looking forward to working in our communities.
