A 221 page report on the redistricting process, including racially polarized voting analysis? Just one example of how California’s independent redistricting commission is so much more transparent than legislative processes (and many other commissions too).

I wrote the tweet on the left yesterday. The one on the right was posted a few hours later and we don’t even have a nomination yet. Good times.

On the one hand, the labor shortage MUST be real because they are reaching out to me—checks notes—+12 years after I abruptly left (long story, but it was a 3rd job). On the other hand, the labor shortage CAN’T be real if $10/hr is supposed be a meaningful incentive. 👀🤷🏿‍♂️🤷🏾‍♀️

Mental illness is always the excuse but it’s never the reason. Just like with Dylann Roof, folks need to understand that there are people with deeply held, abhorrent, racist ideologies. These ideologies are mainstream. Until we accept and address that, it’s not going to change.
