What does a former PE teacher do on his first day as a principal? Dance. ๐Ÿ•บOur theme is โ€œBe a Part of Something Greater Than Ourselvesโ€. What better way to demonstrate that than everyone being a small piece of a great big dance! #DancingPrincipal .SAM .SHAPE Montana

TAG TEAM FITNESS. One partner runs around the outside while the other holds a plank. SWITCH! What a fun way to combine running with strength training! #trinitylearns. #physed

All these curbs give us a good opportunity to practice parkour, landing, climbing, and other functional movements. This is part of our โ€œhikeโ€ where the kids travel the perimeter of our area and get creative (we do teach each piece). And we use slacklines too. #physed #hpe

Although the stopwatch and timing systems are all the rage I'll stick to games and races. I learned to beat a guy on deep fade or track a flyball by playing lots games and competitions with my friends. Games make movement authentic not robotic which better carries over to sport

We call it caterpillar races! Start & stay in plank & move beanbags down the body 1 at a time. Awesome discussion on teamwork! We raced house v house to see who could make it to the end fastest. One raced, one jogged. Thanks Glenn Horowitz our kids โค๏ธ it #noplacelikemccall

Popular foot skills activity from the #physed community: Minefield. Dribble without knocking pin down, grab a popsicle stick for team. Knock pin over, partners turn. Ss enjoyed!

1st Grade using their hula hoops as timers for their partner exercises! One partner spins the hoop and the other chooses an exercise to do until the hoop stops. Then they switch roles. Thanks Justin Cahill for the idea! #teammaddock #Burbank111
