The Westfield #Annapolis Mall is NOT on lock down. 888 Bestgate is sheltering in place. MD 450 (Defense Highway) and MD 178 (Generals Highway) are closed at this time. This is an ONGOING, active incident.

Tonight's Anne Arundel County Council meeting begins with a prayer and moment of silence in honor of the five people killed at The Capital newspaper, during an "attack on an institution that is part of the fabric of our community."

The council unanimously passed a resolution dedicating tonight's legislative session to the memory of Gerald Fischman, Rob Hiaasen, John McNamara, Rebecca Smith and Wendi Winters "so that their names will be forever memorialized into the public record of the County Council."

Annapolis- the traffic lights at Forest Drive and Hilltop Lane are not functioning due to the earlier vehicle collision. Repairs will take hours to complete. Officers will be directing traffic in this area. Avoid the area and expect delays.
