Echo this for NC, where teachers face real threats locally and statewide. But, I talk to many teachers and teacher candidates who think laws in committee or still sitting on the governor's desk are already binding. That is by GOP design.

Just want to say: I very much dislike when people say we shouldn't be "emotional" when potential decisions could directly impact someone's ability to provide for themselves and/or their families in a career that they chose because they love it. There are people behind data. #nced

I am once again begging institutions (like districts trying to hire teachers, cough cough) to create non-socials links and access to their events (suggestion: on your actual website) so I can share them easily.

To be very clear, this will disproportionately harm Black kids. The same folks who were saying kids needed to be in school during the quarantine support this. And there are Black legislators who support it. We’re talking about nonviolent, discretionary things here folks.

As part of my dissertation, I'm inviting Black UNC students and alumni to share their experiences with prospective Black students! #BlackAndCarolinaBlue provides additional information to Black students so they arrive on campus better prepared for the things they may experience.

Good morning, Twitter Fam. For our #nced Fam, I want to offer a little more in the discussion about HB188 which will be heard today. Many have rightfully pointed out how HB188 exacerbates the school to prison pipeline by making certain conduct issues more serious violations.

You wouldn't have known it if you were in California or much of the Western United States (which just experienced a remarkably cold March by contemporary standards). But almost everywhere else in the world, extraordinary warmth has been persistent for months now. #CAwx

No debate. No public comments. Those in leadership don't want to engage their fellow colleagues or the actual citizens they are supposed to represent. That's not good governing. That's an echo chamber. #nced

I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got is a certified classic, but I highly encourage a re-listen, or first listen, of the Lion and the Cobra. I wear that one out. What a loss.
