Great thread about joining a team that’s under lots of pressure already while providing support and create clarity. Bucketing work items and visualising them is relatively low effort but can be immensely helpful for everyone involved.

Such an important aspect of gaining trust as a team with execs and stakeholders. Keeping them in the loop throughout the process has eased so many conversations I had to have in the past.

I won't honk a virtual bullhorn at anyone but the response to 'it's too complex' is *always* to remove code until it's less complex. Complex doesn't mean clever. It's not a badge of honour. Simple always wins.

One of the reasons I still work as a consultant. Exposure to a variety of teams and technologies and learning to ramp-up quickly to carry my own weight has been a very positive journey so far.

Couldn’t agree more. There’s a lot to be said about team setup and all. Then again I find it funny how _so many_ things in software development in general boils down to “talk to your clients”. Everyone wins by doing more of it.

No, they shouldn’t. You know what behavior you need? Talking. More talking. So much more talking. I don’t need to minimize your chit chat or police your conversations. I need you talking to each other. All the time. About everything. Say hello all you want!

Is there a better way to iterate on EPUB books? Using macOS' native Books app becomes tedious after a while having to manually delete old versions again and again. It's not the end of the world, just inconvenient.
