1/3 The DOJ findings are a direct result of state funding not keeping pace with the cost of community-based supports & services for people with disabilities and people with serious mental health diagnoses. People end up in the wrong places to live because community providers...🧵

2/3 cannot retain good staff due to below-market rates set by the state. The State of Missouri has the data from an independent rate review study that shows Direct Support Professional pay should be at least $21/hour. 🧵

3/3 Missouri officials are aware that improvements to their current consumer referral database are overdue to better reflect the needs of each person, so that providers can set them up for success from the beginning. Together, we can do better. #MOFlourishTogether Starling
