Tavern wench. I stop trains. Birds conspire against me. Don't punch down, there are better uses for your fist.

Today is a good day. I like today. Earlier I was approved for an apartment *with* its own bathroom if you can believe it. Then, Tor Books slid into my DMs. I've won an advance reader's copy of Cassiel's Servant by Jacqueline Carey, a continuation of my favorite book series!

A client today kept correcting himself when saying "man," as in "Thanks, man." I felt seen. Pronoun-wise "he" and "they" both work for me, but I bristle at "man", "bro", sometimes "dude", etc. Gender's weird, bro.

I just showered in my own shower for the first time in nearly a year. I'm moving from an apartment with shared facilities to one with its own bathroom. I hadn't realized how....humbling it was not to control my own bathroom. This is a good move.

My method of moving is less "pack everything in labeled boxes and hire movers" than it is "rapidly rotting corpse of detritus, items of which make their way in the car when there is room for just one more thing and it's that exact thing".

As it’s #PrideMonth2023, I have to point everyone to #KushielsLegacy by Jacqueline Carey - with a central tenet of “Love as thou wilt”, LGBTQ+ is as common as breathing, and Phédre remains possibly one of my favourite characters in literature. Love as thou wilt, my friends. ❤️ 🏳️‍🌈

I work at preschool now as an assistant teacher. Picture it: Today. In a big park. Kid 1 sprays me with a "lava gun". I (wearing a tank top) tumble to my death dramatically, closing my eyes. Other kid who I never see: "Interesting, no armpit hair." I laughed. Heartily.
