Two pilots are dead.

That should be the story.

The focus should be on what happened, how it happened, and how we make sure it never happens again.

It's astonishing how simple people are. This was a public condolence to an international audience. Pretty sure the family of the pilots will be receiving more nuanced and private messages, likely in their preferred language. A plane crashed. Two people died. The CEO spoke

Yes - if the party itself hinges on one person, it is not a party. It is a cult. The angry, emotional, attacking comments on any post Rupa makes pointing out the obvious is proof of this. This post may do the same. Me thinks too many "conservatives" doth protest too much!

All very sober right up until the one conclusion that’s carefully ruled out. Why? After Pierre Poilievre lost, I made the same case many partisans are making now: he grew the vote, improved margins, showed momentum. That argument had a shelf life, and you can argue that

Anna lives in an alternate reality. Pierre Poilievre is a product of the establishment. He only knows how to exist within the establishment; it's the only thing he's ever done. He's doing it so well, CPC is are getting nothing & the establishment...aka govt keeps building

A career politician who lost his own seat, lost the election, had an MP clear out a safe riding to parachute him back in, clings to the leadership as the party bleeds support and MPs head for the exits, and still holds forth about meritocracy. Amazing.

A few hours after Poilevre lost his own seat and the election, I was one of the first to defend Pierre Poilievre staying on, making all the arguments about gains etc. A year later, that case has collapsed even if he passed the leadership test at the convention. The party isn’t

Rupa Subramanya Why are Carney fans so dead set on removing Poilievre? If you think he's such a loser, then you should be cheering on his leadership.

Chris Nerpin (@chrisnerpin) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The pro-Poilievre comments on this post and others like it are telling. The knee-jerk reaction that anyone critical of Pierre must be a Liberal is proof of seriously non-critical thinking. Conservatives who want to win will dump dead weight. Conservatives living in Pierre's

Elderly Sikh man in Woodstock, ON assaulted by a white guy yelling, "What the fuck are you doing in my country?," "You ain’t from here..", and, "I will kill you." He sounds like many folks on X these days.

Gay people really need to start openly speaking out against the spread of Islam in the West. We already fought for, and achieved, our rights. We don't want to lose them. Can you name one Islamic country where there are ANY gay rights? I can't.

Mike Bebbzy🛠️ (#AlbertaFirst) Rupa Subramanya Linda Likes don't win elections. The cult of personality you're all building around Poilievre does more to undermine the CPC. The 2025 election was a perfect opportunity to oust the LPC, and he choked against a political newbie. Calling for a leadership change is pragmatism.

Forget about my reporting but why aren't the various right wing rags, the folks who do "real," "journalism," reporting on Carney's corruption? Where are the exposes? Why isn't Polievre trying to bring the government down over these mind blowing allegations? Why, why, why?

Rupa Subramanya (@rupasubramanya) 's Twitter Profile Photo

I appreciate the apology. But more broadly, the past few weeks have been deeply perplexing. I've interviewed Tristin, covered his work positively in The Free Press, and consistently refer to the work published in your pages in my own writing, including Tristin's. You've edited

Is this how Pierre Poilievre's Conservatives plan on winning the next election? I can't wait to not vote for an angry, hateful, void of solutions political party. "We're better than you", is not an election strategy. It's what rational adults consider moronic. FYI...I'm not

Chris Nerpin (@chrisnerpin) 's Twitter Profile Photo

I’m not a liberal voter. The breadth of wisdom within the current CPC is any critique is a literal personal attack on Pierre Poilievre and by default makes one LPC. That’s not building a base. It’s digging a moat around a shrinking one based on an icon, not the real person.
