Doctors face some of the most disgraceful employment practices in the NHS. Fixed term contracts are the standard. Some contracts last 1 year 48 weeks to avoid basic rights. Why no permanent contracts, with probation, & education from day 1? Let’s get this fixed Wes Streeting.

Today's BMJ investigation exposes the widespread exploitation of locally employed doctors, who face dire terms and conditions and lack clear development opportunities. We're clear the Government must urgently address this situation by mandating fair, standardised contracts.

I was today years old when I found out that Richard Tice MP 🇬🇧 got an E in his Politics A-Level and another E in his Maths A-Level. Despite going to a boarding school that currently costs £50k/year to attend. This is the guy who thinks he knows how to run our country and economy! 😂

Had a debate today on Channel 4 on the economy (out later!) Also spoke to 2000 young people from all around the country - and it was amazing. They're not going to take the slop we've been served. They're ready to make hope normal again. Join.greenparty.org.uk

Wow this is an extraordinary revelation on WHO commissioned that resident doctor strike poll from a week ago and how important data was withheld: theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

Alison Moore @alijanemoore.bsky.social (@alijanemoore) 's Twitter Profile Photo

I questioned who commissioned this poll when The Times and The Sunday Times story came out as it was not clear. The Times should have made it clear and also asked for the full results. In not doing so, it has acted as an arm of government.

A constructive suggestion: The government should have much less propaganda against those who work in the NHS, and much more funding for its budgets. A majority of doctors supported the recent strike. Why did the Dept of Health suggest otherwise? theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

The Department of Health and Social Care & Wes Streeting have been caught fiddling the numbers to create propaganda Streeting who said doctors are ‘inflicting pain & misery’ & put out press releases instead of negotiating to end the strikes Who are you going to trust, a lying health sec or your union?

What possible justification can there be for charging graduates earning over £50k 6.2% interest, while their peers earning less are only charged 3.2% (and the BoE base rate is 4%) This feels like the kind of thing Wonga would do, not the British state

Perhaps unsurprisingly - this isn't getting the traction it deserves. Please help by retweeting if you care about learning lessons from the appalling mismanagement of the COVID19 epidemic in the UK. We had FIVE TIMES the death rate of East Asian countries.

I support the junior doctors in their strike action. There are funds to pay individuals with no medical training to provide "care" for vulnerable patients leading to multiple documented avoidable deaths- and yet the government will not pay doctors fairly. It's time to pay our

This was in no way ‘normal’ in the 1970s - there were antisemitic jibes but nothing like this. Any person who did this, even as a teenager, is a profoundly flawed human-being; an individual lacking in the most basic elements of a moral person. Stephen Pollard take

The funniest part about this is that Physician ASSISTANTS (as they are now known) are paid more than fully qualified doctors, despite PAs being less qualified/safe/capable, but they delusionally think that is sustainable. The existence of PAs shows how badly Drs are treated.
