DROUGHT UPDATE We have completely eliminated Exceptional drought and almost all of Extreme drought across California. All of the Bay Area is now in Severe drought which is a big upgrade from a month ago. We are cautiously optimistic because January will be much drier than avg.

Peak #tsunami heights along U.S. West Coast so far are in the 3-4 foot range. That may not sound like much, but it's enough to cause rapid localized coastal inundation/damage (as has been seen in today's footage) and very dangerous ocean/bay/harbor conditions.

Goodspeed trail is open again! Thanks to our trail patrol volunteers, Tony from SEC Education, Intern Chris Kam, and Francis from Park Maintenance, who found and cleared over 10 trees that were blown over during the high winds of last weekend.

A week ago, vegetation flammability/dryness was at levels typical of mid-May in the Bay Area mountains. Today it's at levels typical of mid-June! A sign of how quickly vegetation is drying because of the ongoing 4+ week mid-winter dry spell. #CAwx #CAfire
