We've heard the voices of LGBTQ Kentuckians and we stand with them. Today I was proud to sign an executive order banning dangerous conversion “therapy” on our kids. No child, regardless of their sexuality, should be subjected to harm.

This is what compassion looks like.

We cannot sit back and do nothing while our kids are hurting. Banning conversion therapy is about protecting our youth from an inhumane practice that hurts Kentuckians. It's the right thing to do.

Conversion therapy is torture, and that’s why I signed an executive order banning it in Kentucky. Legislators seek to overturn those protections with HB 495, which I vetoed at the Fairness Dinner. I’m going to keep fighting for what’s right — and that’s loving thy neighbor.
