I arrested Benito Valdez around the time of these murders for straw purchasing multiple firearms and using a firearm to commit drug trafficking offenses. He spent a few years in federal prison. Wish I'd known about these murders at the time.

ATF and MPD worked hard to stop the flow of guns into D.C. in the early '90's when the city was called "the murder capital of the nation." We got into car chases, brawls, and even some shootouts with suspects to stop the flow of guns into the city and protect citizens.
