With another semester ending, here's your annual reminder that teaching evaluations systemically disadvantage women. Even when controlling for grades and other factors, students (esp. males) consistently give female professors lower scores. This can have serious ramifications.🧵

Trust matters

A meta-analysis of 61 papers finds that trust matters for outcomes as diverse as public health, voter turnout, vote choice, and policy preferences. link.springer.com/article/10.100…

Greater economic inequality weakens our belief that political leaders care about our interests.

As a result, it also lowers how much we even care about our leaders being competent.

Does tweeting increase citations? We conducted an experiment with 110 tweeted papers and 440 controls, waited 3 years for citations to accumulate... and found no significant increase in citations
