Nice views of Wild Boar in the forest near Rouen today. Plus Middle Spotted Woodpecker, Short-toed Treecreeper, Firecrest and Black Redstart. You don’t have to go far to find stuff we don’t see at home!

Marvellous views of the Turkestan Shrike on Dunwich Heath in the window of sunshine we had this morning. Always keeping to the sheltered side of bushes as it was blowing a hoolie!

Four new (for me) fungi found in Suffolk in the last 2 days - Goldleaf Shield, Lion Shield, Sand Mushroom and Hairy Bracket. The last on a rotting window frame!

The stunning and rare Butterfly Coquette seen at Manu Biolodge in SE Peru on my recent trip. Even our guide could hardly contain himself with this one!
