Deals are only reached at a bargaining table Air Canada By declaring an impasse you are not bargaining to deadline. What that tells us is you want a dispute or more likely for govt to intervene. We stand with flight attendants fighting for a fair contract.

Rather than focusing on good negotiations at the table, Air Canada locks out workers in a thinly veiled whistle for the govt to intervene. Time for Carney’s Liberals to stand with workers - Section 107 is not an option OFL

To be clear: If governments can ban strikes by simply telling the labor board to ban strikes then Canada has no right to strike. It’s that simple. That’s why Liberals’ use of s.107 of Canada Labor Code to end strikes will be struck down as unconstitutional.

The federal government’s message today to big federal employers: don’t worry about having to bargain. We got you. My message to those employers and the federal government: we will always and I mean always defend the right to strike and to fair and free collective bargaining. 1/

Federal employers need to consider hard what they are sowing here. Because this is what I know: suppressing the rights of workers in this country does not give you labour peace.

Great question from David J. Doorey🇨🇦 💙: Why does Air Canada get a Sec107 arbitration, but Canada Post doesn't?? Critical difference: Air Canada management wants it, Canada Post's doesn't. All kinds of legal and Charter issues raised by this arbitrary and inconsistent approach. #canlab

Hey you 🫵 Sick of governments & bosses screwing over workers?! Me too! I am calling on each of you to show up tomorrow morning Share with your friends! OFL #UnpaidWorkWontFly

When politicians allow the system to be rigged in favour of employers, workers have no choice but to resist. Unions can’t be expected to bow to unjust laws — and the way the Liberals have abused section 107 is clearly unjust. cbc.ca/news/canada/ai… #canlab #cdnpoli

Goes without saying that the Liberal’s much hyped law banning replacement workers doesn’t achieve anything if the government prohibits strikes and lockouts. Sometimes I like to point out obvious things. As you were.

Businesses want temporary foreign workers so they don’t have to pay Canadians a fair market wage for their labour. Anyone defending the TFW program is defending that.

Cabotage can - increase the resilience of international supply chains - secure coastlines - support strategic fleets - reskill national seafarers. In times of crisis, if there is no cabotage, there is no resilience
