Happy #2020 to the #kbtribechat gang! Ryan here and very happy to talk about our furry (and sometimes non-furry) family members. Hope everyone had a great time over the holidays.

#kbtribechat A1. Not generally, but it also depends on the client. The pet’s bedding or food station may already have a designated spot in the home. Unless a client brings it up, we design around the client’s needs/wants

#kbtribechat A2. In researching, I came across Pet-Friendly Flooring. It’s a double layer of cork with a vinyl surface plank flooring. It comes in a variety of colors and patterns and is sustainable. Check it out for yourself -> bit.ly/2SSwHm3

#kbtribechat A4a. For our black lab, Ace, we keep his food in the bag it comes in. For our beagle pit mix, Georgie, his previous owner gave us a plastic food container. For the treats, we have some on Ace’s kennel and in our to-go bag for long walks

#kbtribechat A4b. I really love this idea by Closet Factory. For the family and pets on the go, it’s your one-stop station to grab everything while giving you plenty of room for storage

#kbtribechat A5. Check out this idea by Decoist. It’s easy to forget that our pets age faster than us. I love this low entry point for the washing area. It’s high enough to keep the water in but low enough for an older dog to get in

#kbtribechat A6. Paula Garber, a cat behavior specialist, suggests low-traffic areas away from food and water with some privacy. I suggest not having a cat (I’m a dog lover and am highly allergic to the furry ninjas)

#kbtribechat A7. Not yet, but it’s on my to-do list. Ace has his kennel that he loves to go hide in. Georgie’s favorite spot in on the couch. I would love to build an indoor doghouse or something under the stairs or both

#kbtribechat A8. We haven’t yet mainly because we’re strictly a cabinet company. However, never say never. How cool would it be to have a wine cabinet surrounded by a shark tank?

#kbtribechat A9. Lauren Flanagan of the Spruce listed 5 fabrics that are great for pets. I’ve had both a leather and microfiber couch, and my personal experience/opinion is microfiber all the way. Oh, and check out the article -> bit.ly/2QL6XFp
