Chicago Playwright List will go dark in August 2018. I created the site in 2013 to encourage playwrights to set up their own websites. I was Lit Manager for Pavement Group at the time and was frustrated that so many playwrights were tough to find online. (1/)

Then, New Play Exchange came along and made it exceedingly easy (and cheap) for playwrights to build an online presence. I get almost no requests anymore to update it, so Iv'e decided it's no longer worth the domain registration fees. (2/)
