Been back at school 2 days. Changed the seating layout twice. Have to say I’m happy with it now, they’re not talking much 😂 finally at peace.

This is the ‘waiting room’ in my classroom. It works so well to teach the children to be patient and take turns, no more crowding to form a line around me! 😅 #edutwitter

I applied to a bunch of schools in the UAE at end of Dec/beginning Jan… still haven’t heard back. That doesn’t sound right to me, or do I need to give it time? #CollabUAE #edutwitter

Had such a proud moment with one of my kids who has been very impulsive with behaviour. All it took was some time outside of lesson (not break or lunch), genuine conversation and recapping zones of regulation. Turned into an angel today 🥺

When I’m in a good mood I struggle so much to put on a poker face/give the ‘teacher look’ to tell kids off 😩 a smile starts creeping on my face then bam I’ve lost them, all like ‘miss why are you smiling?!’

I see so many negative reviews of British schools in the Middle East, bad management who treat staff poorly and have no regard for their well-being etc. It’s honestly putting me off applying abroad now. #CollabUAE

I’m finding maths lessons get quite noisy as they talk to each other about the work (mostly). English lessons are much quieter.. I’m not sure how to deal with this as I appreciate them learning from their friends but it continuously gets too loud :/ what can I do? Mr T's NQT/ECT support 🙋🏻‍♂️

Here’s what I tried on Friday: 1) Did maths lesson 1 instead of 2 as it’s earlier in the morning 2) Used bouncyballs.org The noise o meter website helped once they got over the urge to set it off. Generally they were quieter and I didn’t have to keep reminding them!

Okay but the cutest thing today was a child from my old class saying I wish I could go back in time and be in your class again 🥺
