The Economist reviews It Doesn't Have To Be Crazy At Work: "Their book is funny, well-written and iconoclastic and by far the best thing on management published this year" economist.com/business/2018/…

Narcissists manipulate you into shifting your focus from the pain they caused you to the “pain they feel”. Dismissing yours completely. Even in leadership they do this. Stay woke

I cannot keep calm. I got featured today as part of 6 women in a series by Mawazo Institute. This series aimed to feature under 30 women breaking barriers in STEM. I wouldn't have known about it if Architect's daughter wouldn't have nominated me. I am super thankful of this!!

Interviewing for a tech job is like onboarding. There's a lot of "WTF" pain, but no one talks about it. In the case of interviewing it's because we don't want to fuck up our chances. And then once the process is over, the pain is over, so we don't go back and talk about it.

Naming is hard. You can do better. Here's help: codedevotional.com/blog/naming-cl… TJ Stankus and I are recording a podcast about naming this week. Thoughts/questions/feedback? github.com/codedevotional… and we'll address 'em on air!

A good way to be unsure about something is to ask for one more opinion. More opinions often lead to indecision, not clarity. If necessary, ask for a few, add your own, make a call, and move on. Nearly all decisions are temporary, but stalling is permanent time lost.

Giving out equity in startups benefits ownership way more than employees. It allows the owners to push employees harder and harder because “you’ve got skin in the game now… you’re an owner.” No you aren’t. Owning less than 1% of anything isn’t ownership.

It absolutely kills me when I meet someone from Africa who is struggling finding work because of where they live. There is great talent in countries like Nigeria and Keyna and companies won't take the chance. I wish there was a solution to this problem. 😢
