It is with a heavy heart, I regret to inform you of the death of Fire Captain Kyle Colton Pinson last evening.  There are no words that can ease the pain of this moment, and the impact of this tragedy.

Always an honor to attend the Director’s awards ceremony. I’m very proud of the accomplishments of all of the employees in LNU and especially those receiving awards Monday.

A great day today in Napa. 24 new members of the Napa Co FD and South Lake Co FPD graduated from their 5 month academy. Thank you to Supervisors Supervisor Anne Cottrell and Belia Ramos for coming to the graduation today. To our new members, welcome and be safe!

The Unit welcomed a Type-1 Helicopter for exclusive use towards aerial firefighting & it was put right to work Friday on the #SnellFire. Helitanker 71-CH, a CH-47D Chinook, is based at the Napa Airport. It has a fixed tank that can hold up to 2,800 gallons of water.

It’s with great sadness, Con Fire announces the passing of our brother, Firefighter John Martinez. John succumbed to his battle with cancer earlier this morning. Firefighter Martinez was diagnosed with occupational related cancer in 2022 and after a courageous battle.

Last night I had the honor in assisting to bring this fine gentleman to town much to the delight of the Yountville community. The crew of Engine and Truck 12 did an amazing job of decorating the engine and giving tours for the kids. #YountvilleTreeLighting

Chief Isham is a great addition to the LNU/Napa Co FD team with deep roots in Napa County. We look forward to the work he will do providing excellent customer service to the community.

This week we’re hosting Continued Professional Training (CPTs) for fire-line staff to meet annual training requirements to maintain proficiency to respond to a variety of incidents. Monday’s focus was on structural & wildland firefighting & personal protective equipment (PPE).
