Rise Gold’s widely-criticized survey was precisely designed to spin the story in Rise’s favor. Hillary Hodge, GV City Council member said that it didn't pass the “smell” test. #StopTheIdahoMarylandMine #StopRiseGold

Power Drain! The mine’s estimated power usage is massive and will completely erase the county's plans to cut power consumption to curb climate change per the Nevada County Energy Action Plan. #StopTheIdahoMarylandMine #StopRiseGold

Economic risks! The few jobs gained are offset by big risks for tourism, high-tech businesses, private wells, and 10’s of millions lost in property values. #StopTheIdahoMarylandMine #StopRiseGold

The Nevada County Board of Supervisors will vote on reopening the mine as early as 2022. Put a sign in your yard, write, call, & attend the Tuesday NCBOS meetings. Voice your opposition to the mine before it's too late! #SaveNevadaCounty #StopTheIdahoMarylandMine #StopRiseGold

Our community's habitat will be destroyed! Rise Gold's reopening of the mine will turn 75 acres of woodlands, grasslands, and chaparral into 2 engineered fill sites of mine waste! We can't afford to let this happen to our community. #StopTheIdahoMarylandMine

The mine will use roughly 12% of the energy Nevada County uses annually. Rise Gold’s plans call for the significant use of fossil fuels as well! Power crisis & bad air quality are all reasons for the BOS to vote NO. #StopTheIdahoMarylandMine #StopRiseGold

We are a residential community. No place for dump truck traffic, industrial noise, & blasting. Tell the Nevada County BOS how you feel about this and urge a NO vote on the reopening of the mine! #StopTheIdahoMarylandMine #StopRiseGold

As part of the proposed mine dewatering, Rise Gold plans to pump out 3.6 million gallons every day for 6 months and another 1.2 for up to 80 years, putting 300+ private wells at risk. #WaterIsLife #StopTheIdahoMarylandMine #StopRiseGold

Supporters say jobs & local spending are reasons to re-open the mine. Any gains will have a disastrous effect on property values, in turn lowering tax revenues. Only Rise Gold’s investors will see any $ assuming they don't go bankrupt & leave us in ruin with an expensive cleanup!

Private studies paid for by Rise Gold claim zero risk to wells, but we know from previous studies that the fractured rock groundwater hydrogeology of this area is extremely complicated and the impacts to groundwater are truly unpredictable. #StopTheIdahoMarylandMine #StopRiseGold

We have aquifer damage in Nevada County due to the San Juan Ridge Mine failure. With drought & climate change, approx 2 million Californians who rely on well water may find no groundwater to tap. Yet, Rise Gold plans to pump millions of gallons of water per day. #StopRiseGold

Rise promises to offer NID water to 26 homes. The 274 other private wells located in & near the mineral rights area, all at risk of failing or contamination, are not included. Want to play the odds NID can add 274 homes to their system with a drought or even 26? #StopRiseGold
