Join us on Thursday for a Ceramic Bowl Sip & Paint (coffee and tea) directed by our WMHS artists. Proceeds will go towards our Art Department Senior Scholarship. Pre-registration is required for this event.

Second grade artists painted flower bouquets in an Impressionist style inspired by artist, Berthe Morisot. Students used the dry brush technique to apply the brush strokes and layers of colors within their painted background to give the illusion of movement.

Springing into spring break with some spring things; butterflies and flowers by 5th and 4th grades. More of these beauties to come after spring break. Enjoy your time off!

I met some new CLIMB friends today! We did two different activities based on the book “The Dot”. We used dot paint markers as well as egg crayons and jumbo oil pastels with watercolor paint to create individual dots that combined together for a colorful art installation. 🟠🎨

Dot Day! CLIMB classes did a printmaking lesson that created a dot mono print. Students used water based markers to create lines and mixtures of color on a gelli plate. Students transferred (printed) the image with a damp piece of paper and applying a little pressure.

5th grade artists are focusing on Value for this patriotic project. Students learn value, in art terms, is the range from dark to light of a color (the sky graduation). But we also discuss the value of our freedom and the honor that Veterans deserve. 🇺🇸

It’s March! That means it’s Youth Art Month! The WM Library is hosting a sampling of artwork in the upstairs gallery and hallway outside the Children’s section. More K-12 artwork will be on display at the All District Arts Festival at the end of this month. (3/29)!
