Working folks in #Appalachia shouldn't have to fight for crumbs. We need programs like a #CivilianClimateCorps to rebuild from flooding w/good-paying union jobs, like the original C's helped us rebuild in the 30s. Congress can’t waste any more time to invest in climate & jobs.

Rural communities here were devastated by Storm Fred last month. Folks have been sleeping under tarps for weeks. Right now Congress can invest boldly in climate & jobs through the reconciliation bill, but @RepCawthorn won't tax his corporate buddies. Our future can't wait.

I grew up in poverty in Jackson Co, raised by a single mother and deep community, struggling to put food on the table and keeping a roof over our heads. But I learned what it meant to work hard and love one another. Our campaign will raise up the village who raised me. #nc11
