Reliable subjects for when you can't find an esoteric warbler: The Woodpigeon.

It's autumn which can mean only one thing - taking photos of Dippers in the near dark then boosting them in potatoshop.

A Little Grebe, taken yesterday in my local park pond. I went back today to take more photos the because the light was much better and he's evaporated. This is the way of the grebe.

The worst direction for taking Black Headed Gull photos.

Having spent some time trying to figure out juvenile gulls, I can't figure out what this is. 2nd year Lesser Black Backed Gull?

Only a small flotilla of Goldeneye in the Forth off Edinburgh at the moment, the bulk of them appear to be favouring the Fife side of the channel.
