Super excited to share episode #51 of Critical Care Time all about SEPSIS. We cover everything - from Hippocrates to Manny Rivers - tackling controversies (vitamin C) & best practices (LR > NS). Truly one of our best episodes yet IMHO. Hope you'll give it a listen! (links below)

Back to basics! I am starting a new series of videos focusing on mastering basic #POCUS concepts. Starting off with honing your ability to obtain the 4 basic cardiac views and steps on how to obtain additional/advanced views. Please give it a watch: youtube.com/watch?v=kX2s_2…

Why - in the year 2025 - are we *STILL* subjecting ICU patients to frequent painful fingersticks when continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) is a viable alternative? A 🧵 about the potential advantages of using CGM and a recent RCT…

(1/x) We often order TCDs to monitor patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage for vasospasm.. but it is also a fantastic tool for any acute care provider. Here's when I grab the probe to perform TCDs myself👇

Why doesn't this VExUS correlate with the PAC? EF <20 in AKI on CKD, recent angiogram, cardiorenal syndrome. VExUS shows at least mod venous congestion. But the PAC didn't correlate. PCWP 10, CVP 11, filling pressures low. CI 2.2 by TD. korbinhaycockmd NephroPOCUS Matt Siuba

🧵 Part 3 — Why ICU RCTs fail (beyond colliders) 1. The puzzle Decades of critical care RCTs. Huge effort. Tens of thousands of patients. Very few reproducible breakthroughs. This is Part 3 of my series on why ICU trials fail — and why physiology must guide us.
