The Marlborough Pavillion at ChartwellNT was decorated by Churchill's nephew in 1934. It depicts scenes from the Battle of Blenheim and was where the Churchills would read, paint, and relax. Today, it is a perfect spot to sit and watch the world go by on a sunny spring day.

For 40 years, ChartwellNT's Pink Terrace was a place the Churchills enjoyed time together, with the very best views from the house. Left: The Churchills (Randolph, Diana and Winston) on the Pink Terrace at Chartwell in 1929. Right: The view from the Pink Terrace this morning.

I love when I'm researching and stumble across something rare and brilliant. Footage of Winston Churchill ChartwellNT, filmed by the Australian Prime Minister, Sir Robert Menzies, during his Coronation Tour in 1953. Thanks to NFSA National Film and Sound Archive of Australia. 👇 nfsa.gov.au/collection/cur…

Our #VEDay80 programming kicks off *today* ChartwellNT. It tells the story of the Churchills and VE Day with their cherished possessions, including never-before-seen items, and recollections of those who were with them and witnessed that extraordinary moment in history. 🎩✌️🇬🇧

The wisteria ChartwellNT might be the most impressive I've ever known it this year. Just look at it! What an absolute beauty! 💜

Day one of #WW2 #HomeFront life some, big thanks to UP AN' AT 'EM! HISTORY for inviting me to be part, and to ChartwellNT for being excellent hosts! Really lovely day today, back tomorrow AND Monday!

I get asked sometimes how Jock VI (former cat of ChartwellNT, who took early retirement as he lost his sight and became increasingly distressed) is. This photo of him sunbathing in my garden, taken moments ago, perfectly illustrates that he's enjoying retirement enormously. 🐈

A detour on the way to my desk ChartwellNT, via the wisteria. 💜

A tour this morning ChartwellNT for a wonderful group, which included none other than actor and comedian David Walliams. My job is, quite frankly, brilliant.

🐶Inspired by Monty Don’s dog garden at the Chelsea Flower Show, the shop at Emmetts Garden & Chartwell both have 'dog friendly' garden tables of goodies. 💚Every purchase you make at a National Trust shop helps us to continue to look after the special places in our care.

Peonies are my favourite flowers, and so I'm always especially happy when they come into bloom - Seen here in the walled garden ChartwellNT. 🩷
