This 1st of June marks 40-years to the day since the Indian State launched an ongoing attempt to destroy the Sikh spirit of resistance and ideals of sovereignty. The courageous stand of a few saw them fail, because the Sikh kaum (nation) still remembers. #40yearsUnforgotten

40 years since Indira Gandhi ordered attack on #GoldenTemple complex, leading to #SikhGenocide, destruction of historic structures and looting of artefacts. Still no justice for victims, nor UK inquiry (but Labour have promised) into Thatcher Govt involvement! #NeverForget1984

Today marks the beginning of the Indian army invasion of the Darbar Sahib Complex and the Battle of Amritsar in 1984. The WSO has released a short documentary looking at archival news reports of the time, including of Sikh reactions in the diaspora. #NeverForget84

Today marks the 40th anniversary of the attack on Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden temple) ordered by Indira Gandhi, which led to Sikh genocide. Victims families still seek justice. Labour is committed to an Inquiry into the UK Govt’s involvement. #1984 ensaaf.org/photo-essays/o…

40 years ago those we protected ( India) launched an all out attack on Darbar Sahib, Golden Temple, 1000s of Sikh pilgrims were murdered. This was an attack which would change the relationship among Sikhs & the indian government forever. #ParnaamShaheedanNu

On this day 40-years ago, Sant (Saint) Jarnail Singh Khalsa Bhindranwale obtained Shaheedi (martyrdom) in the #BattleOfAmritsar. He has since been named the greatest Sikh of the 20th century. His pic remains on the walls of countless Gurdwaras and Sikh homes. #40yearsUnforgotten

Did you know a Hindu journalist was at Sant Jarnail Singh's home when news of his death broke? Sanjay Suri, who is still a prominent Indian media journalist, has shared his story to underline how there was no anti-Hindu sentiment within Bhindranwale's movement. #NeverForget1984
