Wayne Couzens used his power as a police officer to kidnap, rape and murder Sarah Everard. And the Metropolitan Police used their power to arrest and brutalise the women who gathered to mourn her death. Violence against women is a police problem.

Oh good, another thing women can do to protect themselves! Are we ever going to see any advice on how men can keep women safe? Absolutely appalling.

I say this both as a woman fearful of walking alone at night, & as a former police officer who knows the vast majority of cops are good: It 👏🏻 is 👏🏻 not 👏🏻 up 👏🏻 to 👏🏻 women 👏🏻 to 👏🏻 put 👏🏻 this 👏🏻 right 👏🏻
