Keep up the good work. Seems to me that the only meaningful measure of situation is excess deaths. Somewhat above the multi year average, but this may be non covid problems ignored/missed earlier in the year. Fingers Xed this measure stays at this level

A privilege to have known and sailed with Bob. During a Scottish Series in the 70's racing "Barracuda of Hamble" he was caught OCS. The headline in his column next morning headlined "Barracuda penalised for fast start". He will be missed.

Labour defies expectations to beat SNP and Reform in the Hamilton by-election. Quite an upset for the SNP and a surprise boost for Labour. Decent 44% turnout. Scottish Labour won 8,559 votes, with the SNP taking 7,957, and Reform finishing third with 7,088 votes.
