It’s almost concert time!!!

A weekend full of music! Saturday and Sunday was Carroll Symphony concerts junior trumpet player Isabelle Rouse and me. Friday night was the high school Jazz & Vocal Pops concert!

Want students to gain confidence? Have them perform at contests. Have ALL of them do it (not just some). Our HS band kids were given a very high compliment from a VERY prestigious musician today, “ These kids are great musicians,” Jane Triplett. I’m so proud of them.

This band 💛 We’ve competed at State Large Group Music for many years with 2004 being the last time the band earned a Division I rating. We can now add 2023 to the plaque! I’m so proud of these musicians 💛

AC⚡️GC Chargers Marching Band brings home a 1st Place trophy from Creston’s Balloon Days Competition Parade today 🏆

Chargers Marching Band brought home some well-earned hardware today 🏆 1. Andrew Mahaffey: Overall Outstanding Drum Major out of 11 bands 2. Emmarae Ellis: Overall Outstanding Baton Twirler 3. Class 2A: 3rd place with a very tight point difference the top 3 bands!

Talk about dedication! ACGC's Andrew Mahaffey, Lance Bunde and Emmarae Ellis all competed at the state cross country meet earlier today and then showed up to perform with the marching band at tonight's football game. AC/GC HS

Our members were chosen to receive the WeAreIowa Game Ball! After their state CC meet, these students came back to march the playoff game with their other team. The Game Ball is awarded to student athletes who demonstrate commitment.  Congrats to Andrew, Lance, & Emmarae!

Isabelle Rouse, senior trumpet, was selected to represent our school & the state of Iowa at National FFA Convention! Isabelle earned principal trumpet (first chair) and awarded a solo after auditioning.  Isabelle is the daughter of Stuart & Jayne Rouse of Guthrie Center, IA.
