A great pleasure to start the day in the UK with a keynote address at the London Defence Conference. I spoke about the critical role of NATO and democratic allies, as well as the acute threat that autocrats pose to the security of Kosova, the Western Balkans & Europe as a whole.

Critical infrastructure in the Republic of Kosova was the target of a terrorist attack. The damage is considerable, and police are investigating. There’s already abundant evidence, circumstantial & otherwise, pointing to this being another attack planned & orchestrated by Serbia.

Last Friday night, Kosova's critical infrastructure was targeted in a kinetic terrorist attack of high calculation. The attack specifically targeted a key water canal in north of the country in order to destabilize the country's entire energy production and water supply.

I met Александар Вучић and Albin Kurti today. The only way to EU membership is through normalisation of their relations, on the basis of the Ohrid agreement. I welcomed the readiness to fully cooperate after the recent terrorist attack. Perpetrators must face justice.

We can prevent the next big war on #NATO territory and preserve our way of life. This requires us all to be faster and fiercer. It is time to shift to a wartime mindset. And turbo-charge our defence production and defence spending.

Kosovo President Osmani: The message we get is that the more you align with 🇷🇺🇮🇷🇨🇳, the more progress you make on the EU path. Whereas, if you are at 100% alignment with the EU as Kosovo is, there's no progress for you. This has nothing to do with a merit-based process.

Very much welcome the appointment of Dame Karen Pierce as the UK’s next special envoy to the Western Balkans. It is vital we work to support this important region, to which we have many historic and ongoing efforts responsibilities. The last few years have seen the EU seriously

Make no mistake, this is a pivotal day in this century. Pulling the plug on Ukraine, US disinvesting in European security, and the big powers redrawing the boundaries of smaller ones. A new reality faces Europe and it’s going to require urgent investment in defence & security.

Once again I am leaving the Munich Security Conference in a low mood. Amongst all the noise, the US signalled their plans for Europe, so things are becoming clearer. But things are clearly not good. This is what we now know, and what we now have to do about it:🧵1/17

Something 1848-ish is unfolding on the streets of eastern Europe: Belgrade, Bucharest, Budapest against authoritarianism and corruption - is anyone noticing this 3B spring?

Kosovo and the UK will explore a potential defense and economic agreement. This was announced during a press conference following 🇽🇰 President Osmani's meeting with 🇬🇧 Foreign Secretary Lammy. UK's Foreign Secretary Lammy stated: "As both of our countries make a commitment to

It’s wonderful to be back in Kosovo. This government is proud of our history defending Kosovo’s sovereignty and independence. With Vjosa Osmani and Albin Kurti, I discussed deepening the UK-Kosovo relationship for our shared security and growth.

Long overdue and extremely welcome news - balance must return to the world, and particularly the EU’s, approach to the Balkans, I hope these calls are heeded.

I have today written to the Foreign Secretary seeking a step change in approach to our foreign policy towards Serbia following the attendance of President Vucic at the Moscow military parade on the 9th May. See the letter, co-signed by 25 other parliamentarians, below 👇
