A friend, with commendable academic credentials: PhD holder Qualified NET & SET 5 UGC CARE-listed research papers 5 years of teaching experience was deemed "Not Found Suitable" for an Assistant Professor position at SMKVV, Bastar.

Contrastingly, candidates with lesser qualifications reportedly secured positions, allegedly by paying bribes up to ₹30 lakh. Some of these appointments were made even before official results were announced.

According to a report by Haribhoomi, the university did not publish the interview results even three days after the selection process. Instead, select candidates received appointment letters and assumed their roles discreetly.

Anupam Tiwari, a candidate, filed a formal complaint highlighting these irregularities. He alleged that: Interview results were manipulated. Less qualified candidates were favored. Reserved category candidates were unjustly marked as "Not Found Suitable".

This isn't an isolated incident. Similar patterns were observed at Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV), Raipur, where allegations of bribery in faculty appointments led to significant administrative actions.

Such practices not only undermine the principles of meritocracy but also erode trust in our educational institutions. When academic positions are allegedly sold, the very foundation of our education system is at risk.

I urge the authorities to: Conduct a transparent investigation into the recruitment process at SMKVV. Publish the complete list of selected candidates and their qualifications. Ensure that merit, not money, dictates academic appointments.
