Congrats to Dr Gomes and team Tara Gomes! Strong evidence for retention in addiction care with Safer Supply in Ontario. We need to ask why? Are there other interventions that could help retention to methadone?

The authors of a new Perspective write that the discovery of a highly efficacious option for preexposure prophylaxis that requires only twice-yearly administration has led to the question of whether a vaccine is still needed to end the HIV epidemic. Read the Perspective by L.P.

It took me a year to get this data because Shoppers Drug Mart didn’t want it public. It reveals Ontario taxpayers footed a $61M bill for more than 1.2 million meds checks done by Shoppers over 14 months, via Toronto Star: thestar.com/business/shopp…

Signs and barriers are there for a reason. Restricted areas, strong currents, dangerous drop-offs, obey posted warnings. They’re not suggestions. They save lives.

This is shocking. Since Doug Ford shut down supervised consumption sites, drop-in programs are seeing massive increases in overdoses — including a 288% increase just last month. Overdoses don't go away; they get moved to spaces with fewer supports and resources.

Ontario ranks the lowest in Canada when it comes to per capita hospital spending. We'd need $4.4 billion more to catch up to the rest of Canada. We need more home care, rehabilitation, LTC and primary care. Ontario can't squeeze hospitals more. oha.com/Bulletins/FINA…

Congrats to Dr Joey Bonifacio! His documentary “True Colors: Conversations in Gender” was accepted to its first international film festival. He tells me it’s gonna piss everyone off, and I cannot wait to see it. 🎉🎊🥳👏🏻 The space in between is never easy.
