A persistent theme in conversations with communities on DAC: the Hubs program will set the tone for the industry + signal whether or not it’s to be trusted. Community leadership/ownership, transparency, & anti-FF/-moral hazard provisions are critical. Come learn more tomorrow!

Refinery emissions are significantly higher than what’s reported to regulators & the public. That's why 40 #EnvironmentalJustice, health, civil rights, environmental & equity organizations are supporting #SB674 to strengthen CA's fenceline monitoring program. #CARefineryDangers

When those of us who work on CO₂ removal (CDR) meet, it’s apparent that no one wants to do this and no one thinks it’s easy. It’s far easier and cheaper to stop emitting CO₂. The fact that some of the smartest people I know decide to work on CDR signals our desperation.

Another article out! We argue that procedural justice must be core not only to *deployments* of novel climate interventions like methane removal but also to their *research*. Research that isn’t equity-informed too often produces inequitable “solutions”! iopscience.iop.org/article/10.108…
