This reddish furtive octopus has been a common sight in the reefs at night lately. But I have no idea what species it is. I've seen it put on a white spot in the middle of its face sometimes but otherwise shows no particular body patterns that I've seen.

This thing looks like the body broke off of a toy bug, leaving only the legs. Yet it is as complete as you or me. A sea spider.

The remarkable demon stinger. So hard to see at first but it knows how to make itself be seen when it wants to. I don't get tired of watching it walk with its odd 'fingers'.

An odd looking siphonophore, probably Abylopsis tetragona. I've seen a few types of these siphonophores that come in this sort of transparent 'box' but this was by far the largest at about 5cm

After over 20 years and 1000 dives, I finally went diving in my native Hokkaido. Under the ice in Shiretoko, water temperature -2C. Music: Ice Age (deadmau5 remix) by How to Destroy Angels

A little purple fairy fluttering through the reef, the batwing sea slug Sagaminopteron ornatum. Perhaps my favorite sea slug. Filmed in slow motion.
