Hope you all are already enjoying your fall break; it’s a great time to recharge and a great time to WRITE! To help, we’ll be tweeting out writing prompts all this week, so you can get creative and get writing. We can’t wait to read your submissions!

Prompt 1: Roll two six-sided dice. Whatever number comes up, write down the first word you can think of with that many letters. Repeat 4-6 times. Incorporate these words into a story or poem or argumentative essay and see where it takes you.

Prompt 2: Unsolved mysteries are always so riveting and puzzling, but there are never any answers. Pick an unsolved mystery, and write your own version of its events. Make it suspenseful; make it scarily realistic. Make it however you want—that’s the joy of writing!

Prompt 3: Central Magnet. You might love it. You might hate it. To you, are our 40+ valedictorians excessive? Is the work load too much? Write about how you feel about Central. What has it done for you? Make it thoughtful. @ teachers/librarians this is a cool prompt for you 😉

Prompt 4: Fears either paralyze us or propel us. Start thinking about one of your fears. Failure? Heights? The unknown? Wasps? Political injustice? Now, use that fear as a starting point for the theme of your poem, the topic of your essay, or development of your characters.

LAST PROMPT: Open letters are some of the most profound pieces of writing you can find. Seriously look some up online. Think about something you’ve always wanted to say to someone(a teacher, a friend, a peer, a parent) or even society and finally put those thoughts into words!
