Funding Community Emergency Medicine (CEM) presents a challenge. While there are key performance indicators, few reflect the patient-centred approach and tackling health inequity, making it difficult to justify to those with the purse strings. #CEMCon25

Is community emergency medicine cost effective? In Bristol when you match those seen by a CEMS versus those seen directly in ED the costings work out as >£1,000,000 saved in bed days. #CEMCon25

Our next session looks at a study of a case and “what if” a community emergency medicine service hadn’t existed for this particular patient. #CEMCon25
