Earlier as the children were working I took it in turns to pull a chair up to their table and sharpen their pencils. This meant that the children had a chance to tell me anything on their minds and we all had a bit of a catch up. SO important to get to know your kids 💖

How do we break up for half term next Friday already?!

We do actions in phonics and today I introduced “o” as in “old” and the children all pointed at me 🫠

Tomorrow is my last day teaching as Miss Jennings 🥹

Spent the day accidentally ignoring my kids because I’m not used to being called Mrs Hill 😂

My husband brought me a penguin last night and we’ve called him Harold. Today Harold is joining us so we can take pictures of him doing things to make an album for the kids at school. So far he’s been on the train, car, worked a shift at M&S and been to the cinema

1st year ECT and first Ofsted today. I’m just thankful to be in such a supportive school, had no end of support from the phase and SLT with this ❤️

Day one down, day two to go. It’s been a really positive experience so far

We did it! I have never been so proud to work somewhere before 🥰

I didn’t have anything spotty for #ChildrenInNeed tomorrow so I’ve asked the children to sticker up a plain top 😂

I feel attacked

I feel like we are all getting a bit delirious 😂 I was doing an impression to a child of a firework today and another child who knew what I was doing said “wow miss that was great” and I replied “thanks. I used to be one”. I think I need a nap

If you can, have lunch with your kids even if it’s just once. I’ve just had mine with my class and it was one of the most wholesome things and I was able to really check in on them

It’s been a fun couple of weeks seeing what the Elf gets up to when school is closed. I wonder what finale he will have in store for tomorrow…

Just done Victorian Day at Beaumanor Hall and it was absolutely brilliant! The kids said their favourite part was me getting told off by the Victorian teacher 😅😂

And just like that my first year of teaching is over

First week of second year ECT done. My achievements this week are being a week ahead of planning and being able to leave on time as a result today! Didn’t manage this ONCE last year. Start as I mean to go on 💪🏻
