The world lost a legend with the passing of Bill Russell. His impact on basketball and society will not be forgotten. He handled every adversity with dignity and grace, and walked away a champion. My condolences to his family and those blessed enough to call him a friend.

Was lucky enough to be around Bill Russell many times with Coach Thompson. No time was more memorable than when Big John, Rick Doc Walker & Al Koken had Russell, Oscar Robertson & Deacon Jones on the show together for 90 mins straight. Amazing company & conversation.

In the early days of his radio show, Thompson brought Russell into the station a couple of times. Seeing the two of them walking together down the hall was spellbinding

As amazing as being part of that radio show with those legendary gentlemen was, imagine then being lucky enough afterwards to join those same legends at dinner.Listened in awe,learned much and have one of my greatest memories. Thank you Coach Thompson and RIP Mr. Russell
