Year 12 is done. This giant heart was created by a student. It tells me that despite the challenges, the year was good. #teacherlife #middleschoollove #livetheCODE

The one variable that improves almost all metrics (behavior, achievement, etc) is class size. If we want to get serious about school improvement we have to reduce class sizes.

If your school doesn’t offer flexible, built-in time for intervention (and enrichment), you’re doing it wrong. Many of the students in your school likely need… •Tier 2 Support - Daily support for current classes •Tier 3 Support - Intensive daily support for basic skills

When schools require teachers to offer retakes & accept late work, they ALSO need to provide teachers the extra time those requirements take.

WHY ARE TEACHERS LEAVING THE PROFESSION AT RECORD RATES? •Inadequate preparation for new teachers •Increasing student misbehaviors with little to no accountability •Lack of parent support •Lack of admin/district support •Class sizes are too big •Low salaries

⏳ If half the class requires tier 2 support, the school doesn't need more tier 2 #intervention strategies or programs. There's a need for more universal design. #LeadInclusion #EdLeaders #Teachers #UDL #TeacherTwitter

Please do not use Teachers Pay Teachers for ANYTHING to do with #OrangeShirtDay. Not only is TPT NOT audited for equity and cultural appropriation, creators are literally making money off of Indigenous trauma. I will continue to share free vetted resources this month! 🧡🪶

All the “tools” for educators that allow us to differentiate and make lessons accessible for all learners keep getting expensive to to use or just go away: @screencastify, Edpuzzle, Flip, Google Jamboard, Padlet Teaching is so hard and getting harder every single day.
