It looks like the mild weather is giving a quick spell of soil temperatures over 50° from March 26 to 29. Do I dare put some seeds in the ground or wait until later in April? 🌱🥶

Not me refreshing all of my weather apps every few hours trying to see if these overnight temps Tuesday to Wednesday aren’t a very late last frost (<36°) after all. 🥶📱😱

Well, I'm glad for the warmer soil temps a week ago and sowing when I had the chance, but it's a wild week coming up! Lows overnight Tue-Wed around the frost level (36º), up to the high 60s on Thursday, but maybe frost again next weekend‽ It may be April, but this is not Spring.

Todays rainy day project: Adding on to the seed-starting rig with a blue LED light strip and a heating pad for those just-sprouted starts! 🔵💡🌱

The calendar says April but the air is still saying Brrrr. This gardener is watching the forecasts for hopes of more 50º-plus temps, let alone getting these lows out of the 30s. The warm Thursday last week was a nice treat, though. 🌡🥶🥀

This gardener continues to watch the forecast, and finally lows in the 30s may all be past. Normally soil temps average over 50º around now, and we may get there by next weekend. Last frost is likely past us, though! 🫤🤷🌱
