Here we are on our first day of school practicing writing our names with tactile letters. We had so much fun!

We completed name practice every day during phonics this week. Here are our name puzzles that we cut, sorted, AND glued!

We started centers on DAY ONE! Students in K ELD loved working cooperatively and transitioning between groups.

More phonics practice -- students created name mosaics that double as artwork for our families!

#KELD loved reading David Goes to School! Afterwards, Ss completed a directed drawing using pencil and added crayon for finishing touches. Mrs. Vetere created her portrait using the Sketch Board app. #CBSDtechnology #cbgroveland

Proud teacher moment(!) #KELD created CVC words during phonics centers (and it's only September!!!). Ss were each given a card with a word and corresponding picture. They then chose crayons from their "crayon box" to make the word and display it. #cbsdproud Groveland Elementary

Pete the Cat and His Groovy Buttons- another favorite in #ELDK. We got a kick out of the funny ending! After our read aloud, Ss counted and glued buttons onto Pete's shirt. Ss also took turns using new flexible seating. #PeteTheCat #read Groveland Elementary

We have been working hard on letter + sound identification in #ELDK! Here are our letter 'Cc' crowns. We are learning so much so fast!

Every other week, we spend time with our Roxy Therapy Dogs, Kerri. Thank you, Mrs. DiMarzio, for sharing her with us! We love reading with you both!

Ss are busily working on Letter Jj! We practiced with a rainbow write, play dough, handwriting pencil practice and a Jellyfish craft. #ELDK #phonics #alphabet

Halloween came early in #ELDK! Our Roxy Reader, Kerri came dressed as a lion yesterday! We enjoyed reading books to Kerri as well as our classmates.
