One thing I never guessed was that the dynamic forces don't just dislodge the azimuth arm, they break it. (video is upscaled and interpolated)

Check out this aircraft. Notice: pitot tubes, visible control surfaces, engine cowling covers, a v-tail that extends above the wing into clean air, and a robust landing gear.
