New to #MedTwitter and still trying to figure out normal Twitter. I am a MS3 VCU still interested in surgery but trying to keep an open mind! Also interested in medical innovation and education especially after my online telemed course. Looking forward to learning from everyone!

Surgery interview, I was asked what I like to do in my free time? Me: I like running, dancing, reading, boxing (not professionally just for the fun of punching a bag)... I: oh you don’t do any women like activities? Like cooking, knitting?? I punch like a girl? 🤷‍♀️ good enough?

Crazy idea: Med schools should pay for students to take sociology courses at other colleges where they might actually have meaningful discussions with people outside of med school AKA the community before asking us to reflect on how this affects our practice of medicine.

My 13 hr psych call yesterday got slammed with consults but I loved learning from my team and I had a patient tell someone on the phone that he was busy talking to his doctor during my first solo psych interview! Thanks for believing in my clinical skills, sir.

This happy baby started crying and actively pushing my hand away the moment I tried to put the otoscope in his tiny ear. How do they know to fear the otoscope so young?

Saw this today and one of these awesome surgeons was my first physician mentor! Truly blessed to have been exposed to the medical field by Tuesday Cook, MD, FACS, FASMBS, DABOM!

I feel so official and also valued every time a resident introduces me as Student Doctor Nguyen. Definitely going to try to do this when I’m a resident one day. ☺️

An attending on my family med rotation just gave me a bunch of suturing supplies after I told her I had surgery next but no suturing kit to practice. I feel so happy right now I could cry!

My friend’s brother is missing in Maryland. Please help bring him home.
