I was lucky enough to see the work of Neopolitan artist Vincenzo Gemito Gallerie d'Italia during my recent visit to Naples. Although I saw some iconic paintings by Caravaggio & Artemesia Gentileschi there, these beautiful sculptures/drawings by Gemito were my favourites by far.

Yesterday I cleared out my large flower press, ready to press this year’s plants. I was so pleased to discover these butterfly-like, pressed foxglove petals - an experiment! New plants being pressed, to make cyanotypes, are fritillaries, bluebells, starflowers & forget-me-nots.

Once upon a time, the shop Liberty sold a wallpaper based on the Ladybird book ‘Trees’. It was too expensive for me then - and is not stocked now. But a kind lady on Instagram found she had a piece in the attic - and sent it to me! 😊😊
