The art of reciprocal teaching is “a process that takes the form of dialogue between children and adults for the purpose of constructing the meaning of a particular idea, process, or experience.” (Dietze & Kashin, 2019) I wonder where the wind comes from?

When children take the pictures This allows educators a peek into what the child sees/notices in the places and spaces in which they play and learn. Outdoor documentation that is truly child led!

Maybe by being open to the experience of wonder, modeling it, being okay with not knowing everything, and fostering a "lifelong curiosity about what is left to learn" would be a place to start in re-engaging with wonder (Melton, 2021. p. 16).

Outdoor literacy- reading about making soup from a stone and then making soup! Always remember to bring learning alive!

Invitations versus provocations - what is the difference? How does the outdoor environment offer natural provocations? How can the ECE disrupt the environment to provoke thinking? Some of the questions and concepts discussed in the outdoor project today.

Makes me smile & so wonderful to watch and think about the positive impacts for this child & applications in practice :)

In recognition of National Indigenous Peoples Day, a book recommendation. Elder Marshall & Lou!se Zimanyi introduce the concept of Etuaptmumk (Two-Eyed Seeing), the gift of multiple perspectives in the Mi’kmaw language, as we follow children connecting to nature as their teacher.
