During the last 10 days in DC, NY and Brussels explaining why UNHCR and partners are assisting some Burundi refugees to go home, while insisting on continued solidarity with the majority who still need intl protection, I keep remembering faces and exchanges from my recent visit.

A sobering reminder of what the refugees we meet - in registration lines, in schools, looking after children and others more vulnerable than themselves - have gone through, and from which they are recovering, while also just surviving, and finally - we want and wish - thriving.

#Tanzania, #Burundi & UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency yesterday concluded in #Dar the 21st Tripartite Commission meeting for the Voluntary Repatriation of Burundian Refugees in Tanzania with commitment to continue the repatriation of those refugees verified to have voluntarily decided to return home.
