Teacher retention: if you want to keep the best teachers, treat them like they are the best. Few teachers leave an environment where they feel valued, supported, appreciated, and treated like professionals. This is more important now than ever!

When we read a story, we inhabit it. The covers of the book are like a roof and four walls. What is to happen next will take place within the four walls of the story. And this is possible because the story's voice makes everything its own. 🖋️ John Berger 🎨 Francisco Fonseca

Teachers, what are the best hacks* you've come across to streamline your day-to-day routines? EG: → Countdown timer on board for students → Mini-whiteboard resource packs → Put your own phone in drawer to stay focussed 🤪 (*I know, but I can't think of a better word)

We’re made unemployed every single midterm, Christmas holidays, Easter holidays and the whole 3 months of summer. Very very unfair. We work very hard and are only paid for the actual hours we teach, nothing for prep which takes so long!

A very important message here that sometimes all of us need to hear 😊🩷 #yourmentalhealthmatters instagram.com/reel/CufS0GRrV…

Wanted: x3 short clips (no more than 3 minutes) of a conversation between two people where there is clearly a power imbalance. And ideally, the transcripts that go with them. Can anyone help Team English I’m reintroducing the ‘Spoken Language’ unit at key stage 3.

Annual restock of my “ICE box” for my classroom cupboard. Top tips: include some £ in case of a whip around and cards for all occasions (oh and spare tights!)

Thinking again about "Fast Car" and how the lines "I know things'll get better / You'll find work and I'll get promoted / And we'll move out of the shelter / Buy a bigger house and live in the suburbs" convey more meaning than entire novels sometimes do.

Always remember that teaching is a job that people put their heart, soul & emotions into.Nobody wants to go in & do a bad job. When you deal with humans who put everything into the job they do,just make sure you’re careful when it comes to feedback & criticism. Support, don’t squash
